Memories By Mail Santa Project-- Letters to Santa

Memories by Mail Santa Project

Bringing the Magic of Christmas to McDowell County!

There's something magical about writing a letter to Santa, and this Christmas, Barefoot Baby Foundation is helping bring that magic to children throughout McDowell County!

Through our Memories by Mail Santa Project, children can write their very own letters to Santa, drop them in one of our special North Pole mailboxes, and receive a personalized letter back from Santa's Workshop!

Our goal is simple: to create a little Christmas magic, encourage family traditions, and give children a special memory to treasure.

How It Works

  1. Write your letter! Use the back of our special Santa letter card to tell Santa whatever is on your mind, or write your own. Don't forget to include your name and return address!

  2. Find a North Pole mailbox! Drop your completed letter into any participating mailbox between Sunday, November 22 and Sunday, December 13, 2026.

  3. Watch your mailbox! Every child who includes a return address will receive a special letter back from Santa's Workshop!

Making Christmas Magic Together

This project is made possible thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, Barefoot Baby and The Davis Country Store & Cafe, who are helping us bring a little extra Christmas joy to local children.

We also want to extend a special thank-you to our North Pole mailbox hosts: the Miller Complex, Corpening Memorial YMCA, and both the Marion and Old Fort branches of the McDowell Public Library, for helping make this project accessible to families across our community.

Want to Help at Santa's Workshop?

It takes a little behind-the-scenes magic to make sure every child's letter receives a special response!

If you'd like to volunteer at Santa's Workshop and help us spread Christmas cheer, please email Outreach@BarefootBabyFoundation.org.

Together, we can make Christmas a little more magical, one letter at a time!
