Hungry Caterpillar Adventure

FREE Community Family Event

Get ready for an unforgettable outdoor adventure where little explorers can follow the journey of a very hungry caterpillar through an interactive trail full of surprises!

Families will wander through giant hand-painted story scenes, crawl through oversized food tunnels, meet friendly garden bugs, and celebrate the amazing transformation from caterpillar to butterfly. Kids are encouraged to wear their favorite bug-themed outfit—think butterflies, ladybugs, bees, dragonflies, caterpillars, or anything that crawls, flies, or wiggles!

Along the way you'll find:
🐛 A giant 16-foot caterpillar
🦋 A beautiful 16-foot butterfly
🍎 Huge interactive food tunnels to crawl through
🎨 Bug-themed face painting
🦋 Butterfly wings and bug antennae for kids (while supplies last)
🌿 Plenty of opportunities to explore, play, and make memories together outdoors

This event is completely FREE and is presented by the McDowell Trail Association in partnership with the Barefoot Baby Foundation, bringing families together through nature, imagination, and adventure.
